The Ryzen 7 7700X with its new Zen 4 architecture packs 8 cores and 16 threads, while the Intel Core i7 12700K offers 12 cores (which we’ll talk about below), supporting a total of 20 threads.

However, we also find that when testing both CPUs in Premiere Pro, it is the Intel Core i7-12700K that has a big advantage over AMD.

In the case of evaluating the performance of its integrated graphics in some benchmarks such as iGPU, Intel indeed makes the difference. It gets up to 27% more points than AMD.

Except for a few apps like these, the Ryzen 7 7700X and i7-12700K perform identically, but in some cases, Intel offers better numbers due to having more cores. Overall I would give it a tie as the average difference between the two is negligible.
