On Monday, Apple finally released iOS 16 to the public after months of beta testing. While some users were looking forward to the news of iOS 16, others preferred not to install the new version yet. For these, Apple has released a new version, iOS 15.7.
Thus, Apple allows users to stay on iOS 15.7 with security updates before upgrading to iOS 16.
How to stay on iOS 15.7
When the user goes to the menu to update the software, in Settings, the iPhone shows the iOS 15.7 updates prominently. “Update to iOS 16” appears as an alternative option. Just choose the version you want to install and wait until the update process is finished.
If you really don’t want to install iOS 16, you can disable automatic updates on your device.
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone, iPod, or iPad
- Go to the General menu
- Tap Software Update
- Tap Automatic Updates
- Disable the options to automatically download and install iOS updates
Stay tuned because sooner or later Apple brings news. iOS 16.1 is already profiled.
