It has now been more than a year since the debut of the Fossil Gen 6 smartwatches, but the US brand seems willing to expand the family in the coming days with the launch of Fossil Gen 6 Wellness Edition, a variant that stands out for its Wear OS 3 equipment as the stock operating system.
Wear OS 3 For Fossil Gen 6
Just as the update to Wear OS 3 for Fossil Gen 6 arrives, the Texan company confirms the imminent debut of a new smartwatch whose technical characteristics, in reality, are almost identical: the display remains a 1.28-inch OLED Always-on with a 44mm case. Under the body is the Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 4100 Plus chipset, combined with 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal memory.
There is no shortage of features and third-party apps that can be downloaded through the Play Store, but preloaded are YouTube Music, Spotify, Facer, and Amazon Alexa. Google Assistant will be missing at least at this early stage of Gen 6 Wellness Edition, but there will be a brand new wellness app that should significantly improve health and fitness tracking features. On the connectivity side, NFC, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 5 LE remain.
