How To Hide Apps On iPhone The Easy Way?

Hiding apps on the iPhone is certainly a great way to better organize the various screens of our smartphone. Especially for those who have downloaded many applications on their mobile phone and use different widgets, tidying up the home screen allows quick access to any application.

There are so many ways to change your iPhone home screen. The simplest (and probably best-known) one is to move applications into folders. However, the iOS operating system offers another even more powerful solution: hide apps completely from the home screen.

Like Android, even on the iPhone (as well as obviously on the iPad), it is, therefore, possible to eliminate any application from the “view”, without eliminating them from the device or deleting the related data. Furthermore, it is also possible to hide apps from the search for greater privacy, especially in the case of a device shared with other users.

In this article, we will therefore see how to hide apps on the iPhone without uninstalling them, taking as reference two very simple ways made available by iOS.

You can hide apps one by one, or an entire page of apps at once.

This suggestion is very useful to avoid “weighing down” the iPhone home screen too much, putting aside those applications that we may not use very often or that we want to remove from someone’s “view”.

We tell you right away that the hidden apps will be placed in the ” App Library “, that is to say, a list with all the apps installed on the iPhone or iPad that can be reached by swiping right to the last page of the home screen. Consequently, to “recover” the hidden app, you just need to first enter the App Library and then click on the relative icon.

Before entering the “heart” of the discussion, we suggest you read our in-depth analysis on how to find iPhone with Apple Watch: we are sure that this procedure will be very useful for you.

How to hide app icon on iPhone?

As we told you, there are two ways to hide apps on iPhone.

Without getting lost in further chatter, let’s first see how to hide a single app on iPhone or iPad.

The first thing to do is unlock your “iPhone by” (or Apple tablet) by entering any authentication method set (Touch ID, Face ID, or code) and accessing the home screen of the device.

At this point, find the app you want to hide and hold your finger on the corresponding icon to bring up a drop-down menu. Once this is done, press ” Remove app ” (the last item in the list highlighted in red). We finished? Almost. On the new screen, select the ” Remove from Home Screen ” option to hide it.

NB: Be careful not to click on the ” Delete app ” item, otherwise you will permanently eliminate the program with the attached memorized data. Fortunately, considering the irreversibility of the procedure, Apple has prepared a further “blocking” message to confirm once more the definitive elimination of the app.

Did you see that this is a very simple step? Good.

But what if, for one reason or another, in the future, we want to make that hidden application reappear again, perhaps because we realized that it is better to have it at hand? No problem.

To put the hidden apps back on the iPhone home screen, simply scroll to enter the App Library and press the hidden application icon, then select the ” Add to home screen ” option from the drop-down menu. Nothing simpler.

How to hide pages on iPhone?

Now let’s see the second method, which will allow you to hide not an app, but an entire page of applications. If you have dozens of programs that you want to hide (some maybe just unused, others to be disappeared for privacy reasons), it is advisable to first put all these apps on a single screen and then hide the entire page. Let’s see how to do it.

Again, first, unlock the iPhone or iPad, and, once you have accessed the home screen, press and hold your finger on the dots at the bottom of the same screen (those, that is, that show the page we are on).

Keep holding your finger until the iPhone screen shows all pages at once. Such pages will be rendered small and with a floating animation.

At this point, all you have to do is find the app page you want to hide and press the icon with the check mark located at the bottom of the screen itself. This way, the checkmark will disappear.

To summarize, to avoid misunderstandings:

  • Only screens with check marks will appear on the iPhone or iPad screen
  • The page without the check mark will be hidden and with it, all the apps inserted in it.

To confirm everything, click on ” Finish ” in the upper right corner.

And to put things back in their place? Just follow the reverse procedure. And then:

  1. Unlock your smartphone or tablet
  2. Press and hold the dot icon at the bottom of the first screen
  3. Recheck the previously hidden screen
  4. Click on ” Finish ” to confirm
