SnipClip is a macOS screenshot and annotation app developed by Luke Welch. This policy describes what data SnipClip does and does not collect.

Data we collect

Nothing. SnipClip collects no personal data, usage analytics, crash reports, or telemetry of any kind. The app does not connect to the internet during normal use.

Screenshots and images

Screenshots you capture stay entirely on your Mac. They are never uploaded, transmitted, or shared with us or any third party. SnipClip accesses your screen only when you explicitly trigger a capture.

Purchases

SnipClip is a paid, one-time purchase on the Mac App Store — the purchase itself is the unlock, with no further in-app purchases or subscription. That transaction is handled entirely by Apple — we receive no payment information, no email address, and no account details. See Apple’s privacy policy for how Apple handles that transaction.

System permissions

SnipClip requests Screen Recording permission on first launch. This permission is required to capture your screen and to record video with the Screen Recording feature. You can revoke it at any time in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen Recording. Screen recordings are saved as local .mp4 files to a folder you choose — they are never uploaded or transmitted anywhere.

Children

SnipClip does not collect data from anyone, including children under 13.

If this policy changes, the “Last updated” date above will change too.
