SnipClip Privacy Policy

SnipClip is a macOS screenshot and annotation app developed by Luke Welch. This policy describes what data SnipClip does and does not collect.

Data we collect

Nothing. SnipClip collects no personal data, usage analytics, crash reports, or telemetry of any kind. The app does not connect to the internet during normal use.

Screenshots and images

Screenshots you capture stay entirely on your Mac. They are never uploaded, transmitted, or shared with us or any third party. SnipClip accesses your screen only when you explicitly trigger a capture.

Purchases

SnipClip is a paid, one-time purchase on the Mac App Store. That transaction is handled entirely by Apple — we receive no payment information, no email address, and no account details. See Apple’s privacy policy for how Apple handles that transaction.

Free trial (existing installs)

Some existing installs of SnipClip include a 24-hour free trial, tracked locally on your Mac using a timestamp stored in the system Keychain. This information never leaves your device.

System permissions

SnipClip requests Screen Recording permission on first launch. This permission is required to capture your screen. You can revoke it at any time in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen Recording.

Children

SnipClip does not collect data from anyone, including children under 13.

If this policy changes, the “Last updated” date above will change too.
